Statement by the FTDES

Following an investigation launched by the Tunisian authorities against the Tunisian Forum on Economic and Social Rights (FTDES), Migreurop expresses its support by sharing the statement issued by the organisation. We strongly condemn these measures, which are part of a crackdown on civil society targeting human rights defenders and advocates for the rights of migrants in Tunisia.

A report authored by the group Researchers X, with the support of several organizations including ASGI (a member of Migreurop), and Border Forensics, led by Charles Heller (an individual member of the network), as well as The Routes Journal, On/borders, and MeltingPot, highlights the existence of a trafficking and torture network targeting sub-Saharan migrant women between Tunisia and Libya.
