detained in Agrigento for having saved shipwrecked migrants

Friday September 7,2007, 11 am SIT-IN in front of the Prefecture of Agrigento

TO CLAIM:

– The IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF THE 7 TUNISIAN FISHERMEN detained since August 8. They saved the lives of 44 migrants adrift off Lampedusa and now they risk to be sentenced up to 15 years of jail

– THE RESPECT OF THE MARITIME SEARCH AND RESCUE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTIONS

– THE EMPOWERMENT OF RESCUE INTERVENTIONS of migrants escaping towards Europe and the FULL RECOGNITION OF THE ASYLUM RIGHT

– THE ABOLITION OF THE BOSSI-FINI ITALIAN IMMIGRATION LAW, based upon the violation of the human and civil rights, which causes clandestinity and illegality, in particularly with the Interministerial decree n° 14, July 2003

– THE IMMEDIATE CESSATION OF FRONTEX MISSIONS, tools of the European policies of repression and death against migrants
