Joint Statement

MEPs and 32 civil society organisations including Migreurop have released a joint statement following the uncovering of new mass graves earlier this week. They are calling for a freeze on migration funding to Libyan security forces and the opening of safe routes for people escaping the country..
The recent discoveryof dozens of bodies, believed to be people migrating, in mass graves in Jakharrah and the Alkufra desert in Libya is shocking and horrific.

Inter-associative open letter to the European Commission

Madam President, Mr. Commissioner,
The European Pact on Migration and Asylum was adopted by the European Parliament on April 10, 2024. As outlined in your communication of June 12, 2024, each Member State is expected to involve and consult “social partners (…) and representatives of civil society organizations” and to submit, no later than December 12, 2024, its own national implementation plan specifying the actions and timeline.

World day of action against the border death regime and to demand truth, justice and reparations for migration victims and their families

On February 6, 2024, a major transnational mobilization marked the 10th anniversary of Commemor-Action. On February 6, 2025, we aim to further amplify this mobilization in support of the families of those who have died or disappeared during migration.

A year and a half has passed since the state crime near Pylos, Greece, led to the deaths of over 600 people migrating to Europe. Despite irrefutable evidence and survivor testimonies from the shipwreck, those responsible for this crime have yet to face judicial consequences. The perpetrators continue to operate with impunity, posing an ongoing threat to displaced individuals and exemplifying the immunity they enjoy.
